For the past 31 years the Diocese of Juneau has held its annual Faith In Action Appeal. The purpose of this appeal is to raise funds to support the work of the Diocesan Chancery. It raises funds for operations, outreach, mission support, and Holy Name Catholic School in Ketchikan.

The appeal, held during the months of October, November and December, also provides an opportunity for each parish to raise funds for their own special projects. Each parish is assigned a pro-rated goal. Any amount raised above the pro-rated goal stays with the parish.

This past April provided me with the most fulfilling experience of my ministry as a bishop. It was the ordination of Fr. Steven Gallagher as the newest priest for the Diocese of Juneau.
